Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) is becoming increasingly popular in clinical practice due to various inaccuracies and phenomena associated with the conventional Riva-Rocci/Korotkoff technique (e.g. white-coat hypertension). Given its increasing use, scientific bodies, such as the European Society of Hypertension,1,3 have published recommendations on the optimal ABPM method.
