Reducing Cardiovascular Risk: New Insights from ONTARGET^®

Hypertension 2008 - The Joint Congress of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) and the International Society of Hypertension (ISH)

The landmark trial ONTARGET^® has gained a lot of interest after the initial presentation of its results at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) in Chicago, March 2008. At the joint congress of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) and the International Society of Hypertension (ISH), in Berlin, Boehringer Ingelheim and Bayer Schering Pharma sponsored two satellite symposia that were intended to further examine the findings of ONTARGET^®.

During the first of these two symposia, entitled 'Reducing Cardiovascular Risk: New Insights From ONTARGET^®', international experts from the UK, Italy, the USA and Canada presented valid new information on ARBs in general and telmisartan* in particular. The symposium was chaired Professor Giuseppe Mancia and Professor Peter Sleight.
