Reducing cardiovascular risk and the role of blood pressure: new evidence
Munich, Germany
Since the release of the results from the landmark trial ONTARGET® on March 2008, special attention has been focused on ARBs and telmisartan in particular, on their use in daily clinical practice, and the association of blood pressure control and reduction of cardio & vascular risk. At the second of two satellite symposia, sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim and Bayer Schering Pharma, new evidence of stroke and kidney disease protection and reduction of cardio & vascular risk in general was presented by a group of renowned international experts from five countries.
The symposium, entitled “Reducing cardiovascular risk and the role of blood pressure: New evidence”, was chaired by Professors Roberto Ferrari (Italy) and Peter Sleight (UK).
